Video Storytelling

The Center for Tribal Nations (CTN) project aims to leverage the redevelopment of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) property to establish a collaborative partnership between Native and non-Native organizations, Tribal, and non-Tribal governments. This integrated project will restore Native peoples’ connection to the Willamette River and address challenges of sustainability, resilience, and inclusion. Digital Native was fortunate enough to be asked to create a promotional video to help further educate and promote this great effort.

ELEVATING INDIGENOUS PROSPERITY

  • Impact: For too long, narratives surrounding Native American communities have been shaped externally. Custom video provides a powerful platform for Indigenous peoples to tell their own stories, in their own voices, preserving cultural heritage, promoting self-determination, and driving economic initiatives from within the community. This authentic representation builds trust, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and inspires investment in Native-led prosperity.

  • Our Method: We collaborate directly with organizations, and entrepreneurs to produce videos that highlight our unique cultural traditions, successful business ventures and community-driven development projects. This includes documentary-style films, educational series on traditional ecological knowledge, or compelling profiles of Indigenous innovators in our community.

  • Impressive Metrics: Digital storytelling, when authentically led by Indigenous creatives, can significantly impact awareness and investment. Studies show that 93% of companies acquire new customers through social media videos, and when these videos share authentic, community-led narratives, they not only attract consumers but also philanthropic support and collaborative partnerships.  Empowering our voices through video can lead to a demonstrable increase in engagement and support from both within and outside our immediate communities.
